Dear Bathmate users,
Its come to our attention that some bathmate's comfort pads have had a minor issue with the comfort pad bonding to the bellow. If your pad has come loose over time we will replace it free of charge. Please fill out the form on the right and supply any images if possible. The comfort pad is the only area that can wear on a Bathmate and was originally designed to be replaced over time.
Please note: Physically pulling the comfort pad from the bellows pump will make the warranty of this part void, though replacement parts will be freely issued to any customer who has registered their warranty or who wants to replace the comfort pad as a refurbishment upgrade.
After receiving feedback over the last year from some users we have identified a problem which has affected one Bathmate user per 3000 units sold worldwide or 1/3000 which equals a 0.00033 percent failure rate. Amendment to the manufacturing procedures where implemented in Dec 2010 to reduce this rate even further , as one year as not yet passed it is impossible to evaluate the improved rate but it is currently 1/4000.approximately and even then, these small number of cases are more than we would like or want. The comfort pad is designed in such a way as to reduce the loading and pressure contact at the base of the penis. Made from soft, textured materials, the comfort pad is heat bonded to the harder bellows material of the pump system, but in some rare cases the industrial adhesive has lost its adhesion to the comfort pad material through a process of particle migration. This very rare anomaly is almost impossible to detect and it only occurs after a period of use. The bonding adhesion is such that it becomes stronger the more and longer it is used, while at the same time the comfort pad is designed to be in compression when in use and this compression assists in retaining it on the pump system. In addition, the vacuum generated when the product is being compressed is also designed to hold the comfort pad to the pump, and without placing the part under any undue loadings.
Though the comfort pad has been tested in trials to withstand over one million cycles of simulated use in and out of water, the designers realized that this is the one area of the Bathmate that may suffer from wear and tear over time. So the original design brief was to allow the comfort pad to be replaced with minimal effort, thus allowing an extremely high product life by simply replacing the worn or damaged parts. Because of the flexible texture of the comfort ring and the nature of its application, it does requires an extremely high grade adhesive to form a good bond. Bathmate uses adhesives as recommended by some of the world’s leading adhesive suppliers. That said, because this part is in constant contact with the user throughout its working life it means the soft pad area can become worn and deformed over time. Consequently, Bathmate offers a replacement pad that can be simply fitted in a few minutes. This replacement will therefore renew the device up to full working condition giving many more years of reliable service.
